What is an Otoplasty?
An Otoplasty or ears surgery is the correction of congenital malformation of the auricle, such as prominent ears or separate from the skull, adjusting the pavilion of the ears, to be more attached to the skull.
Am I a candidate for an Otoplasty?
All people who present congenital deformities or who do not feel comfortable with their appearance are candidates for this surgery, in fact it can be performed on kids from five years old and up.
How is an Otoplasty done?
For the Otoplasty, the surgeon removes excess skin and sculpts the cartilage by reducing the size of the ears and positioning them closer to the head, through small incisions that are made behind the ear where they are easily hidden in the natural folds of the pavilion.
